Katelyn and Anthony where do I even start with this adorable couple. Anthony's parents where so kind to host the intimate family wedding at their cottage home in Canterbury right before Christmas. We couldn't have asked for a better day after having freezing tempetkres the week prior filled with a bunch of snow their day ended up being absolutely gorgeous outside. This made for some beautiful outdoor wedding portraits. I just love when my couples will brave the weather and trust me when I have these crazy ideas of tracking through the snow on their wedding day. I mean the snow went so well with their winter wonderland theme. The intimate ceremony started with a special phone call between the bride and her grannie who couldn't be there and then down the stairs to her awaiting groom. Anthony's face lit up when he say his bride for the first time. The ceremony was no surprise filled with plenty of laughter and some tears. You can feel the love in the room just by looking around. I think my favorite part was the dog... Yes the dog even had her own flower girl dress for the wedding. She truly stole the show haha. It was a pleasure to be a part of such a special day and I was honored to meet this incredibly loving family who happen to live right down the street from me.

When I first talked to Gina on the phone and heard the news about her secret plan to surprise her husband with a vow renewal I got so excited. One of the most romantic gestures ever. The best part is he had no clue and I mean the venue was the perfect cover. Who would think of having a vow renewal at high end bowling alley? Well Gina did and I think it was such a fun idea. The evening was filled with their closest friends and a lot of laughing and smiles. Thank you Gina and Roland for allowing me to share this special night with you. Heres to many many more happy years of marriage to you both!
What a beautiful job Cloud 9 and Ashleigh's Garden did for Kara and Devon's wedding at The Lace Factory last month. When I walked in I was floored at all the little details. I mean hello I probably could have just stayed there all day taking photos of the tables thats how gorgeous they were. A big thanks to Eric for having me shoot this wedding with him and I truly can not wait to return for another wedding at The Lace Factory soon! Hands down one of my very favorite venues I've had the pleasure of shooting at this year. Their food is always out of this world delicious and they really now how to treat their guests and vendors which is a plus.
When I first met Devon that morning he was the sweetest ever and I could tell he was just a LITTLE nervous but knew he was ready to call Kara his wife. Let's just say Devon has some major style. Check out his awesome custom tux for the big day. I mean I must say he was one of the best dressed grooms I've photographed in the 5 years I've been shooting weddings.
Kara was top notch gorgeous when she spread for their first look. She had her hair up with beautiful delicate florals that matched her bouquet perfectly. Her off the shoulder lace covered dress was so flowing and fit her to a T. Just beautiful. And let me tell you about how awesome the bridesmaids dresses were. I just love when brides let the ladies choose a style that fits their personalities. They all had different dresses in the most beautiful pastels. I couldn't help but make sure to get a photo of each girl with their unique bouquets. I mean they were amazing...
I hope you enjoy this wedding and if you or a friend is planning a wedding at The Lace Factory give me a call. I am dying to shoot another wedding there soon!
Where to begin with this beautiful wedding. I mean I LOVE shooting at Allen Hill Tree Farm so much that when Rachel with Rowanberry + Lavender called me to shoot this wedding with her I could not refuse. We couldn't have asked for a more gorgeous day and the weather was perfect for this fall wedding at the farm. The day started off at The Hilton Garden Inn and all it took was one step through the front door and I knew right away the perfect spot to hang the dress. I literally fell in love with the chandeliers in the lobby and with the beautiful wood and glass backdrop who could go wrong. I love when I get to go back and fourth between the bride and groom especially when the rooms are on the same floor. Matt was already dressed when we arrived but I couldn't help but grabbed a few quick details of him and on to the bride I went to back up Rachel. Karen had a handkerchief from her grandmother and kept the box it came in for her wedding day to store it. How much love this family has just made me feel like I was part of the family that day even though I had literally only met them 5 minutes ago. I immediately knew right then and there why Rachel talked so highly of this couple and how much she loved this family. Matt made Karen the sweetest necklace that had the coordinates engraved of where they are getting married on both sides. How creative he is I swear. I mean he even made the log Arbor that they got married under at the Farm.
Then came time for Karen to get into her dress and well the tears quickly flowed. I found myself getting teary eyed behind the camera as I was shooting the moment. Rachel and I looked at each other and our hearts melted with excitement for Karen. Once Karen was dressed I quickly drove off to Allen Hill Farm to start the groomsmen photos and of course they are always a blast. The guys had a few fun ideas and even decided they would all climb to the top of the rock and take big group photo.
I think I witnessed one of the most emotional ceremonies of all my weddings ever shot that day. The crying the smiling and most of all the laughing. After exchanging their rings they did a rope ceremony where they tie hands together and the officiant tells a nice story. The best part of the whole ceremony was the officiant was a very close friend of the family which always makes it more personal to the couple.
Well finally it was party time for the guests and Rachel and I were off into the sunset with the happy newlyweds and of course we both were jumping for joy with the gorgeous sunset light we were so blessed to have that day. I think we probably took about 500 or more photos between the two of us. LOL If your looking for a gorgeous sunset for your wedding day then I highly recommend having your wedding at Allen Hill Tree Farm. Theres so many little hidden gems on that property for your wedding day photos. Also they always have the BEST caterers. On the Spot Catering is one of my very favorite caterers in the area so I was really excited to see them there. They are always so tentative to the bride and groom and amazing to fellow vendors. They feed us well too and in my eyes thats always a BONUS when your on your feet working all day to have a great working relationship with other vendors.
After formals where over it was time to get to the fun part of the day! The first dance was amazing and of course the father daughter dance was emotional. Aren't they always the most emotional part of the day? Karen's Made of Honor was brought to tears and you could see the joy in her mothers face. We had fun partying along with the guests and snapped a ton of amazing photos even out by the bon fire and during cat cutting. But until next time I say Live, Love, Laugh and be Merry!
congrats to the happy couple and Thanks again to Rachel for having me to shoot this beautiful wedding with her. I can't wait for our next adventure together!

When I got the distress call from Tracy 2 days before her daughters wedding at The Nathan Lester house I just new I had to jump in and help a fellow photographer out. Everyone deserves beautiful wedding day photos. I mean heck I literally could have walked to the venue. I love being around the corner from such beautiful historic venues in Ledyard. When I arrived right before the ceremony all I could see is the loving family members running around setting up the perfect simple decorations. It was simply stunning and so special. One of the most emotional intimate weddings I've had the pleasure of witnessing. I loved that Sara and her dad stopped at the back of the isle to say a little prayer before Jose turned to see his beautiful bride walking down the isle. His reaction was priceless and so sweet. He literally burst into tears. Tracy had only 3 weeks to pull this special day off, but I have to say she nailed it and I know Sara and Jose loved it. Thank you Tracy, Sara and Jose for allowing me to be a part of one of the most special days of your lives.
What I love most about this adorable couple was watching them interact with one another. I had so much fun at Gouveia Vineyards with Megan an Mike. I can't tell you enough about how perfect of a choice to have their engagement photos at this venue was. Megan good call on using the Gouveia vineyards in the fall. That dock overlooking the water and vineyards was so stunning. I was dying over the gorgeous lighting as always. Thanks for trusting me enough to follow me to a random red barn on the side of the road. Those images turned out magical and I can't stop staring at them. When I first met with Megan & Mike I knew instantly we would be a perfect fit. I mean hello Megan has such a great heart and teaches children for a living. I have a special place in my heart for teachers who work so hard and are way under appreciated for what they do. Also Mike has some amazing taste in sports teams. Who knew that he would love the NY Giants and the NY Rangers as much as my husband does. I know that their wedding at the Webb Barn next year is going to be stunning and such a fun party. Thank you again Megan & Mike for allowing me to take part in this special time in your lives! I had so much fun trekking around the Gouveia Vineyard with you.
What a sweet genuine couple Kathryn and Kevin are. When I got the call from Amy Mello that she needed a 2nd shooter for this wedding I couldn't help but get super excited after hearing her tell me all about the couple. I've been wanting to get a chance to visit the Preston Ridge Vineyard and this was the perfect time to do so. I have to say anyone who is looking for a rustic chic vineyard style wedding will not be disappointed with this beautiful venue. Upon meeting Kathryn and Kevin I could tell instantly how in love they are. Amy told me so much about this couple that I felt like I knew them personally before the big day arrived, and I could tell she was personally invested in this wonderful couple. She told me how they were both adopted from Korea when they were younger and just happened to meet when they both started working in the same school district. How fun is that to meet your sole mate while your doing a job you love so much! The love of music was clearly shown in all the hand selected details of the Preston Ridge Vineyard wedding. Kevin even had a few of his students who were so happy to come out and play for them during the ceremony. Thats says something about someones character and devotion to their students. Sadly I only got to participate in part of the day and I hear Kevin and Kathryn preformed a music number for their guests and I missed the best dance party ever...
Thanks again Amy, Kathryn & Kevin for letting me share is such a beautiful and meaningful day! Congratulations and I know you will have a wonderful and adventurous future together.
I had the pleasure of working with some of my favorite vendors for this Preston Ridge Vineyard wedding and I can't wait to share them with all of you and my future brides who I know will LOVE everyone of these vendors for sure.

Devon and Daniel's wedding at The Riverton Yacht Club this past fall was absolutely breath taking. They are such a fun couple and that go's to say why my second shooter Bonnie and I had so much fun hanging out with the bridal party all day. When Devon first called me and told me she picked The Riverton Yacht Club for her outdoor wedding I could not contain my excitement to photograph a wedding at this venue. It was only fitting that this adventurous outdoor loving couple would choose a venue that represents one of the many things they do together. Devon and Daniel belong to The Riverton Yacht Club and go sailing all the time. I remember when we did their engagement photos and took a hike through the woods in Pennsylvania for about 2 miles and all we did was laugh, I've had so much fun getting to know this wonderful couple over the last year and I'm truly honored I got to celebrate their special day with them. The day began with thunderstorms coming and going but turned out to be a beautiful overcast day. Of course as a photographer I couldn't have asked for better lighting than that. The ladies started out partying at the brides Aunts house while the guys were hanging out at the future Rau house. When I took my first look at Devon's dress I immediately fell in LOVE with it. The silk fitting body covered with the beautiful delicate lace adorned with her silk sash. I mean does it get any more rustic romantic than that? Judy Cope and friends helped her make all the bouquets and boutonnieres for the special day. The groom and his groomsmen all wore what I call boat shoes and I thought it was such a great touch to match the nautical theme of the day. The navy and mint colors matched everything so perfectly and the best part was the bridesmaids all had a different dress but yet still coordinated with one another. Get this... They all had pockets in their dress. I thought that was amazing as I am a pocket in my dress kinda girl. When we got to the Riverton Yacht Club for Devon and Daniel's first look I knew just the perfect spot for Daniel to see his beautiful bride for the very first time. We had a blooper moment when the bride was walking to see her groom a daddy long legs decided he wanted to join the party and climbed on Devons dress. Daniel turned around to not only see his blushing bride but he also got the surprise of his life when he noticed this big spider walking around on Devon. He made the funniest face and swatted the spider off her and then the real moment happened. His face lit up and the smile said it all. These two knew they were ready to become one and couldn't wait for the ceremony to begin. During the ceremony you could just feel the love in the air on both sides of the isle. The bridesmaids were crying and I couldn't help myself but I got a little choked up as well. Then came one of the best receptions I've had the pleasure of being a part of. They had a live band playing and the guests enjoyed themselves so much that I don't think we ever had an empty spot on the floor all night. Everyone had a blast dancing the night away. Thank you again Devon and Daniel for letting me share in your beautiful day with you. I enjoyed every moment of it!
