These two are among the very best men and woman who give their lives to those who are in need without hesitation. I was so honored to have the opportunity to photograph Kaci and Larry’s engagement session at the local fire station they both volunteer their time at together. We had so much fun running around the fire station and then we were so lucky that Kaci’s relative grows grass. Yup you read that correct he grows grass so we got to use the really pretty fresh lawn to finish there session. The colors of the gorgeous fall tress where to die for and mixed with the dark green grass I was in heaven. We laughed and played games and Larry even gave Kaci a piggy back ride to end the night. I am so excited to photograph this sweet couples August wedding this year. I can’t believe its right around the corner already.
Meggie and Brian met online which is kinda become the normal for so many couples now. I mean I am happy to say I’ve met my current boyfriend on Match dot com and it really does work.
I asked Meggie my usually questions and in her own words here’s their love story of how they met. Our first date was a quick dinner where Brian was a perfect gentleman albeit 30 minutes late... which is usually my MO (so together we stand no chance of being on time haha). We immediately scheduled a second date for a few days later, met early in the morning for a hike with the dogs, breakfast at a diner (my favorite, being a Jersey girl), then we were having such a good time we decided to go kayaking and grabbed pizza for dinner, and shared a sweet first kiss. This was ultimately a preview to many future weekends together enjoying the outdoors and searching for the best local pizza.
The best was the proposal was a complete surprise, everyone thought Brian would propose on our one year anniversary trip, he didn't, I was thinking Christmas, that would also turn out to be incorrect. Instead after a Labor Day picnic he asked me to come help him out in the living room and when I walked out he was down on one knee asking if I'd be his wife. Later I would find out how he had taken a vacation day to secretly go find the perfect ring and that he wanted to propose on our trip but the ring hadn't come in and his secret texts with the jeweler that he didn't want me to see, and then as soon as he got the ring, he just couldn't wait to ask. <3. Simple and sweet.
These two are so sweet and I can’t wait to share their gorgeous Yacht club wedding with you on the blog soon…
When Alicia told me her idea about having me come out to her friends private farm for their engagement session I swear I felt a little giddy inside. It’s like being a school girl in love all over again when it comes to me and beautiful rustic farms. So my favorite part was that we got to have fun with their 3 gorgeous dogs and with a little bit of me jumping around looking like a fool behind the camera and the dogs being very patient we were able to get the shot Alicia rally wanted. When the day came it was raining all day but we decided to power through it and make the best of the day. I always carry my white umbrellas with me for wedding days and figured lets play in the rain why not. I have to say Alicia and Michael were good sports and went with it. I am so happy with the gorgeous images we ended up getting. A little rain does not stop people in LOVE…
I can’t wait to celebrate with them on their big day this coming St. Patricks’s day. I just know it’s going to be a blast.
When I first talked to Nicole and Jadian about their wedding I knew right away they would be a perfect couple for the J.Parsons Photography family. The sweet story about how Jadian proposed in Florida on a sail boat just melted my heart. They were away for vacation and little did Nicole know that he planned it all out. He rented a boat just for the two of them to enjoy all day. It was just them and the captain. We all know how that story ends because surprise they are engaged!!!
It was so great to finally meet them on their last trip up to CT for a venue walk through. It was perfect timing I just happen to have that day off from my crazy wedding season and we planned a fun morning shoot. I promised to keep it short since they were going to have a really long day filled with like a 9 hour drive home back to Pittsburg but I like I always tell my couples its so important for us to meet and have an engagement session so we can get to know each other before the big day.
Knowing that they both love adventures and the outdoors we planned to start the session at The Wadsworth Falls before ending at their wedding venue The Barns at Wesleyan Hills. To our surprise there was the cutest little tree farm across the street from the falls so we of course made a pit stop. I mean who doesn't love some photos with gorgeous Christmas trees. I think my favorite part about the session was right from the start they both seemed to read my mind and know what I was thinking next. Its like they've been doing this forever. They were even brave enough to climb on the wet rocks to get super close to the beautiful falls for one of my very favorites of their session. Jadian was so funny he saw me looking at the little jetty of rocks and before I could even say anything he's like yup we will totally go on that. We finished our morning off at the beautiful barns under the weeping willow trees and even explored the fun tunnel. I just love the variety of images we were able to capture in such a short amount of time. I truly can not wait to celebrate Nicole and Jadian's wedding with them next June! Until then happy wedding planning...

Sarah and James' wedding was nothing short of perfection. No detail was left out from the invitations to the matching bridesmaids hangers all the way to ending the night with a custom popcorn bar. Lorissa from Shuttle Meadow Country Club really took Sarah's vision and ran with the setup. I have to give her and her team so much credit for keeping the wedding running smooth. The wood was out of this world delicious. When Sarah told me she was going to have a live band in stead of a Dj I got so excited. I love when my couples have a live band. They really know how to keep the party going. Their day started off with a few tears but tons of smiles. James was a little nervous but I mean what groom doesn't have nerves before they get to see their beautiful bride walking down the isle. I just adore the little church they said their vows and exchanged their rings in. Once they shared their first kiss it was off the party. Bridal party photos were fun and then it was off to the gulf carts we went. I will never forget watching Sarah holding her huge bouquet going up and down the hills of the trails. The beautiful scenery overlooking the greens just made my heart smile. Sarah and James are naturals in front of the camera as I learned during our engagement session last fall. It was just so effortless taking photos of them. I literally could photograph them all day and night long. Shuttle Meadow Country Club is the perfect setting for some romantic images. My favorite part about their venue was that Sarah's parents also got married and had their reception at the club. It really made for such a special wedding memory. We even had fun recreating her parents favorite photo at the front door of the club. Of course we made a few memories of our own along the way.
I hope Sarah and James are enjoying their amazing honeymoon in the Mediterranean on a cruise. I can't wait to hear all about it when they return. Thank you again Sarah and James for allowing me and Elana to share in your gorgeous day!

When I first got the call from Conor with his plan to pop the question to Becca and he wanted to do it on the first day of Buttonwood Farms Sunflower for Wishes. I was over the moon with excitement. I mean who doesn't want to be a part of something like this. Sharing this very special time with Becca and Conor was so much fun. You can just see how much love they have for one another. Before leaving them I felt like I was an old friend. The best and most favorite part of our portrait session was when they decided they had to take a photo in front of the cows because Becca is going to be a large bread vet. Well little did we know that one of the cows was going to become the focus in the background and photo bomb them. It was so great and perfect timing. So earlier in the week Conor and I made the perfect plan on google maps. lol Best thing ever when your planning something from several states away. Conor told me he would be flying in the night before the big proposal so I would go there a few days before and check out the lay of the land. We were able to walk the route he would eventually take Becca on that Saturday morning. It was a gorgeous day. The two of them walking through the path enjoying all the beautiful sunflowers which by the way is Becca's favorite and then right before they reached the end of the walking path he turned her and dropped to one knee. Instantly Becca burst into tears with excitement. It was simply magical and I couldn't hold back my tears watching it all unfold before my eyes. He picked out the perfect ring for his sweet bride to be and she LOVES it. Thank you again Conor for choosing me to create these beautiful life long memories for you and Becca to cherish for years to come.
Where to begin with this stunning wedding? Becca and Marty chose the perfect rustic barn for their romantic spring wedding. The Barns at Wesleyan Hills was decorated to perfection with every detail in its place. I was so honored to shoot this special wedding with my awesome friend Robyn from Robyn and Lou photography. We always have so much fun when shooting together. My day started with Marty and the guys and lets just say I knew form the moment I walked in that this was going to be a wedding filled with so much love. Marty was beaming with excitement and blushed every time someone mentioned his soon to be new wife. Poor Becca was sick on her wedding day but that didn't stop her from looking absolutely stunning in her gown. The Ct wedding group who hosts weddings for The Barns at Wesleyan hills did a fabulous job as always with their styling and day of coordinating. I am always happy to shoot a wedding at one of their venues, because lets face it they truly know how to put on an epic wedding.
So my favorite part of the day was when Becca walked out to the end of the isle to meet her father. I didn't know Becca before that day but after talking with her in her bridal sweet before the ceremony I just knew that moment needed to be captured in time. And surely it was magic seeing the look on her fathers face as his beautiful daughter walked down the long driveway to him. They picked a beautiful spot on the property to have their ceremony right in front of the weeping willows that blew in the wind. Let's just say it was magic. You can tell by the photos it was the perfect romantic setting. Just like I thought Marty cried and cried when his bride walked down the isle and he continued to cry during most of the ceremony especially when he said his vows. Both sets of parents just gleamed with huge smiles knowing their children were finally tying the knot. This was such and emotional day and I'm so thankful to have been a part of it. The first dance was even more amazing as the ceremony. The barn was decorated to perfection. I can't wait to be able to come back to this beautiful venue for another amazing wedding. So if your looking for the perfect romantic rustic wedding then you can't go wrong with The barns at Wesleyan Hills.
So when Nicole told me we had to plan her an Dylan's engagement session around his leave I was happy to work them in at a moments notice. The best part was Dylan really really wanted a snow session this winter and low an behold someone was looking out for us. We had a crazy ride that week and got the biggest snow storm of the year here in CT. Thirteen inches fell the day before we were supposed to have Nicole and Dylan's session at the Denison Homestead in Mystic. Let's just say we were all very excited to go play in the snow. I even got so excited for one shot that I almost forgot there was a creek where I was standing being covered by all the snow and literally almost fell in. But I didn't care one bit because the photo I took while falling was purely magic. I want to thank Dylan and Nicole for the sacrifices they make to keep us safe and free. I had so much fun with them during our session that I just know we will have a blast on their wedding day this coming October at The Mohegan Sun golf club. I'm so honored they chose me to be their wedding photographer and can't wait for the big day to get here.
So here are some highlights of us laughing and having a good time in the snow this past February. I even loved that they did the traditional navy kiss while in his dress blues.
