The Comstock Covered Bridge in Colchester was the perfect setting for Ashley and AJ’s engagement session. When Ashley said she wanted something very rustic and woodsy I was all for it. I think my favorite part was that they brought Aj’s pride and joy old truck. I can’t wait to photograph this sweet couples wedding next fall because we had so much fun in the short time just walking around the bridge. I lost count how many times we had to stop because we were laughing so hard we snorted. Yup you read that correct. I was so excited that they chose me to be their photographer after shooting Ashley Matron of Honors wedding last year. Its the biggest form of flattery when your new brides come from your old brides. It means so much to me. Thank you Ashley and Aj for having a fun evening with me!
I still remember the day Brittany reached out to me about her wedding at The Mansion at bald hill. She had me at hello we are planning to have our beloved dogs in our ceremony and are you okay with dogs… I eekkked in excitement and could not wait to celebrate their wedding day with them. I can’t believe these two loves birds planned their wedding in only a short few months. 3 to be exact. I mean who thinks they will call their venue of choice only to hear theres been a cancelation and we have a date open 3 months away. I swear sometimes the short planned weddings are always the most beautiful and fun. My favorite part of this gorgeous wedding was the flowers. Brittany used wood flowers for everything and they are STUNNING… I do believe her engagement ring was the start to my new love affair with colored stones instead of diamonds. Who needs a diamond now a days just get me a beautiful designed ring with a beautiful colored rock made in Rose Gold and you have my heart! I can go on and on about how much I loved this wedding and how gorgeous it was but instead I will let the photos tell the story of these two love birds. You can see if written all over everyones face how perfect these two are for each other. I have to say The Mansion at Bald Hill is still one of my most favorite venues in the North East “Quiet Corner” of Connecticut.

Lisa and Sachin are two the my favorite people I’m had the pleasure of meeting through the years. I had this deep connection with Lisa at our very first meeting as she stole my heart the minute she cried looking at my wood memory box. I knew right then and there she’s my kinda bride. Emotional and in LOVE with photos and the preservation of memories. I have this slight obsession with telling stories behind my photos even in my everyday life with my kids. Details Details and more Details… A favorite part of every wedding day for me is the small little details like the smallest stones on the brides shoe to the grooms custom cufflinks. The smiles they share and the tears they shed when the father hands off his beautiful daughter to her forever husband. I find it very therapeutic to be in these moments knowing I captured it for them to cherish for a life time. Lisa and Sachin had a rainy wedding day but that did not stop this couple one bit. As always I have umbrellas for my bridal parties incase and even with a sideways rain these fun loving friends did not complain once as we ran outside following the indoor ceremony to grab some fun photos under the umbrellas. We got so lucky and the rain clouds cleared long enough for Lisa and Sachin to get some romantic couples photos outside around the grounds of Bill Miller’s Castle before being whisked into their reception for the first dance. My secret favorite part was getting to try the different foods from Sachin culture and boy was it delicious. We ended the night with fun and dancing and even cigar rolling which turned into a cigar smoke portrait session in the dark. Thank you Lisa and Sachin for having me be your photographer. I LOVED every minute of your special day!

What a beautiful day we had for Meggie and Brian’s Guildford Yacht Club wedding last August. They really had the perfect day which usually you think in mid August it would be super hot. We got so lucky and had a gorgeous breeze day. I was so excited when they told me about this quiet little park over looking the water way across from the venue. We decided the first look and portraits had to take place there. The guys showed up in the biggest truck form the marina. We all had a good laugh when they pulled up and all the guys jumped out of the back of the pickup in suits. I must say Meggie was one of the calmest brides to date. I think me favorite part of the day was jumping on the boat and taking a quick spin with them out on the water. I mean its not everyday your couple arrives to their wedding ceremony by boat. We had a lot of laughs and even a few tears throughout the day. The reception was no small feet filled with exciting dances including an irish dance by the grooms relatives. We ate delicious food and yummy cake (Everyone knows I shoot weddings for the cake). They ended the night under the sparkler lined sidewalk with their friends and family. A little birdie told me this sweet couple is expecting a new little one this summer and I could not be more excited for them to move into this next chapter together. Congratulations to you Meggie and Brian on the new bundle of joy.
Awesome Vendors who made the day great!

One of my most favorite parts about living in Canterbury is the small town feel we have here. Josey found me on google and I was honored to come be a part of their special intimate backyard wedding. We had the best time walking their property along the creek after they said their I do’s. I think it was one of the least pressure wedding days I’ve ever had. I am starting to love intimate weddings. I should do more of them because just seeing these two so in love and not a care in the world about having the big wedding was so beautiful and inspiring. If I get married again its officially in my head I don’t want a big wedding I want something small and simple. All you need is LOVE and each other. Coz was the most gently man and you could see how much he cared for Josey. He was shaking with excitement to put that ring on her figure that he had a hard time getting it on. I can’t wait to get the call when they start having little ones… (Hint Hint I’m ready when you are to start having little ones!! LOL) I love babies just as much as weddings. Congratulations to this wonderful couple and here’s to many many happy years of marriage.
When your couple tells you they want their engagement photos with their favorite sports team on it and they show up with your favorite teams jersey you grin ear to ear with excitement. I mean I didn’t think the session could get any better until mom brought out the most adorable dog ever… He was such a champ and it was like he knew he had to put on a show. I can’t lie I almost wanted to take the little guy home to my kids. Shannon, Andrew and I had so much fun exploring one of my favorite parks together. Harkness Memorial State Park has so many little secret hidden gems around the property that I can shoot there everyday and still manage to find a new fun spot to use. The lighting is always so gorgeous and this day was particularly one of my favorites with this beautiful warm glow we had. I am so excited and can’t wait for Shannon and Andrews wedding which just so happens to be in a short few months. The count down has begun…
When I got the call from Christine a dear friend and fellow photographer with Chensley Photography that she needed me in a big way. I knew I just had to step up and help her out. I couldn't have been more honored to shoot Paige and Alan's big day at the Owenego Inn and Beach Club in Branford, CT. I mean who doesn't love having the best job ever? I got to show up and shoot this incredible couple and all the little details of the day. We laughed cried and danced the night away! Christine did a beautiful job with editing this stunning wedding and allowing me to blog the images makes my photographer heart happy!! I truly LOVED every moment of Paige and Alan's wedding day.
I have to admit between Paige's aunts unique ceremony and the amazing dancing I can't decide which of the two I loved the most. This wedding was pretty epic... But my absolute most favorite part was when I took them out to the rock jetty in the water for some romantic portraits of just the two of them. OMG is ALL I need to say! Keep scrolling you will SEE them all!!
Congratulations again to the newlyweds and thank you for trusting me to shoot your wedding in Christine's place while she took maternity leave with her new bundle of joy.

Sarah and James' wedding was nothing short of perfection. No detail was left out from the invitations to the matching bridesmaids hangers all the way to ending the night with a custom popcorn bar. Lorissa from Shuttle Meadow Country Club really took Sarah's vision and ran with the setup. I have to give her and her team so much credit for keeping the wedding running smooth. The wood was out of this world delicious. When Sarah told me she was going to have a live band in stead of a Dj I got so excited. I love when my couples have a live band. They really know how to keep the party going. Their day started off with a few tears but tons of smiles. James was a little nervous but I mean what groom doesn't have nerves before they get to see their beautiful bride walking down the isle. I just adore the little church they said their vows and exchanged their rings in. Once they shared their first kiss it was off the party. Bridal party photos were fun and then it was off to the gulf carts we went. I will never forget watching Sarah holding her huge bouquet going up and down the hills of the trails. The beautiful scenery overlooking the greens just made my heart smile. Sarah and James are naturals in front of the camera as I learned during our engagement session last fall. It was just so effortless taking photos of them. I literally could photograph them all day and night long. Shuttle Meadow Country Club is the perfect setting for some romantic images. My favorite part about their venue was that Sarah's parents also got married and had their reception at the club. It really made for such a special wedding memory. We even had fun recreating her parents favorite photo at the front door of the club. Of course we made a few memories of our own along the way.
I hope Sarah and James are enjoying their amazing honeymoon in the Mediterranean on a cruise. I can't wait to hear all about it when they return. Thank you again Sarah and James for allowing me and Elana to share in your gorgeous day!
