I still remember the day Brittany reached out to me about her wedding at The Mansion at bald hill. She had me at hello we are planning to have our beloved dogs in our ceremony and are you okay with dogs… I eekkked in excitement and could not wait to celebrate their wedding day with them. I can’t believe these two loves birds planned their wedding in only a short few months. 3 to be exact. I mean who thinks they will call their venue of choice only to hear theres been a cancelation and we have a date open 3 months away. I swear sometimes the short planned weddings are always the most beautiful and fun. My favorite part of this gorgeous wedding was the flowers. Brittany used wood flowers for everything and they are STUNNING… I do believe her engagement ring was the start to my new love affair with colored stones instead of diamonds. Who needs a diamond now a days just get me a beautiful designed ring with a beautiful colored rock made in Rose Gold and you have my heart! I can go on and on about how much I loved this wedding and how gorgeous it was but instead I will let the photos tell the story of these two love birds. You can see if written all over everyones face how perfect these two are for each other. I have to say The Mansion at Bald Hill is still one of my most favorite venues in the North East “Quiet Corner” of Connecticut.

Lisa and Sachin are two the my favorite people I’m had the pleasure of meeting through the years. I had this deep connection with Lisa at our very first meeting as she stole my heart the minute she cried looking at my wood memory box. I knew right then and there she’s my kinda bride. Emotional and in LOVE with photos and the preservation of memories. I have this slight obsession with telling stories behind my photos even in my everyday life with my kids. Details Details and more Details… A favorite part of every wedding day for me is the small little details like the smallest stones on the brides shoe to the grooms custom cufflinks. The smiles they share and the tears they shed when the father hands off his beautiful daughter to her forever husband. I find it very therapeutic to be in these moments knowing I captured it for them to cherish for a life time. Lisa and Sachin had a rainy wedding day but that did not stop this couple one bit. As always I have umbrellas for my bridal parties incase and even with a sideways rain these fun loving friends did not complain once as we ran outside following the indoor ceremony to grab some fun photos under the umbrellas. We got so lucky and the rain clouds cleared long enough for Lisa and Sachin to get some romantic couples photos outside around the grounds of Bill Miller’s Castle before being whisked into their reception for the first dance. My secret favorite part was getting to try the different foods from Sachin culture and boy was it delicious. We ended the night with fun and dancing and even cigar rolling which turned into a cigar smoke portrait session in the dark. Thank you Lisa and Sachin for having me be your photographer. I LOVED every minute of your special day!

Where to begin with these two handsome guys. When I first met Stephen at the hair salon I knew right away I wanted to have the opportunity to photograph him one day. His smile is just infectious and his out going personality lights up any room. As sad as I am that he literally moved to Florida the day we took these photos I am super happy he found his soul mate. I will forever miss our fun and hilarious conversations while sitting in his chair getting my hair done. When Stephen called and said lets get some photos done before me move away I was so honored. He left it up to me where we wanted to shoot but with one thing in mind he said I love something with nature and old barn looking buildings. So of course I had the perfect place in mind and it just happened to be right by my studio. One of my favorite places to photograph year round. Some people don’t realize the history in our small town of Canterbury and I kinda like it that way. Its always so quiet and a relaxed atmosphere when I bring my clients here to shoot. Next time I get to see these handsome guys will be for their wedding day. Now hurry up you too and get to planning that big day!!
When I got the call from Christine a dear friend and fellow photographer with Chensley Photography that she needed me in a big way. I knew I just had to step up and help her out. I couldn't have been more honored to shoot Paige and Alan's big day at the Owenego Inn and Beach Club in Branford, CT. I mean who doesn't love having the best job ever? I got to show up and shoot this incredible couple and all the little details of the day. We laughed cried and danced the night away! Christine did a beautiful job with editing this stunning wedding and allowing me to blog the images makes my photographer heart happy!! I truly LOVED every moment of Paige and Alan's wedding day.
I have to admit between Paige's aunts unique ceremony and the amazing dancing I can't decide which of the two I loved the most. This wedding was pretty epic... But my absolute most favorite part was when I took them out to the rock jetty in the water for some romantic portraits of just the two of them. OMG is ALL I need to say! Keep scrolling you will SEE them all!!
Congratulations again to the newlyweds and thank you for trusting me to shoot your wedding in Christine's place while she took maternity leave with her new bundle of joy.

Where do I even start with these two. When I first got the email from Kacey that she wanted to meet with me and talk about her wedding the usual nervousness set in but the excitement quickly took over. Once we finally met at I think the busiest Starbucks ever on a freezing cold day and how much fun I had talking with them about all the details of their wedding to come I couldn't help but fall in love with them. Kacey and Anthony are getting married at Allen Hill Tree Farm and love the fall just like me. And.... She works at the one and only NORA cupcake company which is like only the most fabulous cupcake company in CT period. I totally can't wait to eat some deliciousness at their wedding. I thought it was so cute when we were deciding on the meeting place that Kacey is a Starbucks lover and Anthony is a Dunkin Donuts lover. I personally love both... So of course once they booked me I knew exactly what I was sending the coffee loving couple as a thank you for choosing me to share in the most important day of theirs lives.
Sadly the entire end of the fall season had rain storm after rain storm, but I'm glad Kacey trusted me with the location choice because I knew Harkness Memorial park would still be a beautiful backdrop for the fall look Kacey was hoping for in her engagement photos. She's so talented and crafty I swear. I mean she painted a pumpkin with their wedding date on it and found some beautiful metal letters to use during the session. These two were naturals in front of the camera and I can't even tell you how much fun we had running around the park. I can't wait for the big day to come later this year. Thank you again Kacey and Anthony for choosing me to be your photographer. Until then I leave you with this... Do what you love!

What I love most about this adorable couple was watching them interact with one another. I had so much fun at Gouveia Vineyards with Megan an Mike. I can't tell you enough about how perfect of a choice to have their engagement photos at this venue was. Megan good call on using the Gouveia vineyards in the fall. That dock overlooking the water and vineyards was so stunning. I was dying over the gorgeous lighting as always. Thanks for trusting me enough to follow me to a random red barn on the side of the road. Those images turned out magical and I can't stop staring at them. When I first met with Megan & Mike I knew instantly we would be a perfect fit. I mean hello Megan has such a great heart and teaches children for a living. I have a special place in my heart for teachers who work so hard and are way under appreciated for what they do. Also Mike has some amazing taste in sports teams. Who knew that he would love the NY Giants and the NY Rangers as much as my husband does. I know that their wedding at the Webb Barn next year is going to be stunning and such a fun party. Thank you again Megan & Mike for allowing me to take part in this special time in your lives! I had so much fun trekking around the Gouveia Vineyard with you.
Devon and Daniel's wedding at The Riverton Yacht Club this past fall was absolutely breath taking. They are such a fun couple and that go's to say why my second shooter Bonnie and I had so much fun hanging out with the bridal party all day. When Devon first called me and told me she picked The Riverton Yacht Club for her outdoor wedding I could not contain my excitement to photograph a wedding at this venue. It was only fitting that this adventurous outdoor loving couple would choose a venue that represents one of the many things they do together. Devon and Daniel belong to The Riverton Yacht Club and go sailing all the time. I remember when we did their engagement photos and took a hike through the woods in Pennsylvania for about 2 miles and all we did was laugh, I've had so much fun getting to know this wonderful couple over the last year and I'm truly honored I got to celebrate their special day with them. The day began with thunderstorms coming and going but turned out to be a beautiful overcast day. Of course as a photographer I couldn't have asked for better lighting than that. The ladies started out partying at the brides Aunts house while the guys were hanging out at the future Rau house. When I took my first look at Devon's dress I immediately fell in LOVE with it. The silk fitting body covered with the beautiful delicate lace adorned with her silk sash. I mean does it get any more rustic romantic than that? Judy Cope and friends helped her make all the bouquets and boutonnieres for the special day. The groom and his groomsmen all wore what I call boat shoes and I thought it was such a great touch to match the nautical theme of the day. The navy and mint colors matched everything so perfectly and the best part was the bridesmaids all had a different dress but yet still coordinated with one another. Get this... They all had pockets in their dress. I thought that was amazing as I am a pocket in my dress kinda girl. When we got to the Riverton Yacht Club for Devon and Daniel's first look I knew just the perfect spot for Daniel to see his beautiful bride for the very first time. We had a blooper moment when the bride was walking to see her groom a daddy long legs decided he wanted to join the party and climbed on Devons dress. Daniel turned around to not only see his blushing bride but he also got the surprise of his life when he noticed this big spider walking around on Devon. He made the funniest face and swatted the spider off her and then the real moment happened. His face lit up and the smile said it all. These two knew they were ready to become one and couldn't wait for the ceremony to begin. During the ceremony you could just feel the love in the air on both sides of the isle. The bridesmaids were crying and I couldn't help myself but I got a little choked up as well. Then came one of the best receptions I've had the pleasure of being a part of. They had a live band playing and the guests enjoyed themselves so much that I don't think we ever had an empty spot on the floor all night. Everyone had a blast dancing the night away. Thank you again Devon and Daniel for letting me share in your beautiful day with you. I enjoyed every moment of it!
